About the Author
Dr. Navatta (they/them) graduated from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. They have participated in the veterinary profession their entire working life, starting as a kennel assistant in high school followed by becoming a licensed veterinary technician in 2010. After graduating veterinary school, Dr. Navatta embraced shelter and community medicine in Chicago, Illinois. They currently work as a general practitioner at Bramer Animal Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. Dr. Navatta also proudly serves on the board for PrideVMC as a Director-at-Large, as a mentor for both MentorVet and Pawsibilities Vet Med, as a volunteer instructor for the Cornell CVM–based FARVets program, and as the facilitator for the Veterinary Medical Interconnected (VMI) community. Additionally, Dr. Navatta is a small business owner, having cofounded a floral business in 2023. They are passionate about supporting sustainable change and community initiatives in this beautifully treacherous world.
