About the Author
Dr. Waddell graduated from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and completed an internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. She worked briefly in private practice before completing a residency in emergency medicine and critical care at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Waddell is currently a professor of clinical critical care medicine and medical director of the intensive care unit at the University of Pennsylvania. Her areas of interest include fluid therapy, acid–base disturbances, and coagulation in critically ill patients.
