Personal health and wellbeing for veterinary professionals is one of the NAVC’s top priorities. That is why we are implementing many new wellness initiatives at VMX 2020.
The Health and Wellbeing Village
At VMX 2020, the NAVC, along with some of our valuable industry partners, will be incorporating new wellbeing resources from the three pillars important to your wellness journey: Mind, Heart and Body.
Women’s Pavilion
Relax and connect with your peers during topic-based, informal discussions facilitated by a certified coach. Topics will explore both the personal and professional aspects of leadership, and leading your best life. Celebrate a new community coming in 2020, share your feedback on the support and resources most important for your journey, and learn how to get involved! Brought to you by Wellhaven Pet Health.
Animal Encounters
The Cat Nap Café, sponsored by KindredBio, and Puppy Playground are two areas where you can interact with adoptable animals. Drop by to get daily snuggles and purrs from these cuties looking for their fur-ever home.
VMX Park
Each morning from 7:30–8:30 AM, daily yoga will take place in the VMX Park inside the VMX Expo Hall. Throughout the rest of the day, look for fun games in VMX Park, such as jenga and cornhole.
Fun(d) Run
Join us for the annual 5k Fun(d) Run, Sunday morning, which is sure to wake you up and will give you a great start to your day!
Fitness Area
Get your blood flowing and tackle the day with increased endorphins. You’ll be able to choose from bootcamp, self-defense classes, pilates with puppies, and yoga with goats. Sponsored by Nationwide.
Health and Wellness Workshops
Enjoy workshops on leadership and resiliency, and learn strategies to take care of yourself and your team. Sessions range from “Wellbeing Strategies” to “What to Expect as a New Graduate.”
Rabies Titer Testing
Do you know your Rabies Titer? According to the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, persons at frequent or high-risk of potential rabies exposures, such as veterinarians, their staff, animal handlers, and some laboratory workers should get pre-exposure vaccinations.
You should have your titer checked every two years!
