About the Author
Dr. Dutton is a graduate of Michigan State University and has a master’s in pain management. Prior to his retirement, he founded and owned 4 veterinary hospitals in New Hampshire. During his career, he cofounded the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians and has served in a number of positions of veterinary organizations. He has also lectured and written on veterinary pain management both locally and nationally. Dr. Dutton is a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) in 4 specialties: canine and feline practice, avian practice, exotic companion mammal practice, and reptile and amphibian practice. Additionally, he is a certified veterinary pain practitioner by the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management, a certified aquatic veterinarian by the World Aquatic Veterinary Medical Association, and a founding fellow of the ABVP Companion Animal Pain Management Fellowship.
